The 5U4G rectifier delivers 100 Watts of DC power. It would be used for all types of medium power equipment and was used extensively in 1940's equipment.
Each anode is folded from a single sheet and ribbed for strength. The working faces are flat and the ends are rounded.
View from the pinch end, the filament is an oxide coated ribbon and the anodes are stitched together with the side flange spot welded to the support rods.
The classic envelope is 50 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 117 mm tall.
