The CV575 rectifier delivers 100 Watts of DC power, a reasonable size of valve. It would be used for all types of medium power equipment.
We have no exact details of design age, but these devices were used in the 1940s and 1950s. They were not specified for new equipment by the 1960s.
The sample shown here is equivalent to the 5U4G but has the American glass tubular shape and is a much more modern valve than the 5U4G. It is unusual to find an all glass construction on an octal base.
The wide glass tube envelope is 37 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 85 mm tall.
