The 5U4G rectifier delivers 100 Watts of DC power. It would be used for all types of medium power equipment.

The design dates to 1938 and the Brimar version to 1940.

The Brimar 5U4G has ribbon filaments coated with oxide. Note the filament tension springs above the top mica.

The classic envelope is 49 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 109 mm tall.
