Triotron

Triotron was the brand name for one of the smaller European Independents based, possibly, in Austria.

During the mid and later 1920s they made and marketed a whole range of cut-price valves, achieving a significant market penetration in the UK. By the later 1930s they had settled down to copying the common European domestic valves of the day. Their later valves look rather Philips-like and we suspect Philips may have part-owned Triotron.

With a batch of valves came some data-sheets containing details of the early 1930's two Volt and four Volt valves. These are presented here and are large files.

The 2-Volt Types are: ZD2, UD2, YD2, SP2, P215, HD2, WD2, TD2 and SD2.

The 4-Volt Types are: D410 (MD4), H412 (RD4), A420 (SD4), W412 (WD4), E414 (UD4), E420 (XD4), E422 (YD4), P420 and P425.
