The VS2 is a variable-mu amplifier pentode. The filament is for accumulator use and the anode is designed for dry battery operation with a maximum anode voltage of 150 Volts. Exhibit VS2 shows this valve with full zinc paint external metallisation.

The screen grid is a complete box with the grid itself being a woven mesh. he anode exists as two small flat plates mounted either side of the screen grid box.
The plastic moulding for the top cap connection is missing but the connection to the anode is clear. The ridge pressed into the anode plate gives it mechanical stability.

The balloon envelope is 44 mm in diameter, and excluding the B4 base pins is 106 mm tall.
