This 6SN7GT is a Canadian made glass tubular version of this much loved double triode valve from the 1940's. Each half of the 6SN7 is electrically equal to the 6J5 triode.
The Type designation is etched within an octagonal lozenge on the glass as is the word Canada. On the base the wording is 6SN7GT together with General Electric and Made in Canada.
The etched lettering on the left. The heater passes through the cathode six times.
The anodes are rectangular in cross section with rounded ends. At the centre of this folded and stitched structure is a side flange that is used for holding the stitches and the support rod.
The wide glass tube envelope is 29 mm in diameter and excluding the IO base pin length, stands 67 mm high.
References: Data-sheet, 1040 & 1043. Type 6SN7GT was first introduced in 1941. See also 1941 adverts.
