The PM24A is an example of an early mains valve and was designed as an audio output valve. With a load resistance of 10k Ohms it could deliver 2.5 Watts at 10% distortion.

The balloon envelope is 48 mm in diameter and excluding the B5 base pins it is 87 mm tall.
