The 9BW6 has the same characteristics as the 6BW6 with a 9 Volt 0.3 Amp heater making it suitable for use on television heater chains. As an audio output valve it delivers a significant 5.5 Watts at 12% distortion. The cathode resistor should be 360 Ω.This exhibit has orange lettering rather than the usual white lettering.
The control grid is wound on copper rods. Only two sets of grid supports are visible as the secondary emission suppression is by a bright beam plate. The thin glass tube envelope is 21 mm in diameter and, excluding the B9A base pins, is 59 mm tall.References: Data-sheet & 1040. Type 9BW6 was first introduced in 1953. See also 1953 adverts. |
