The 35A5 is an audio output beam tetrode designed for use in equipment without mains transformers but employing series heater chains. A load impedance of 4,500Ω is specified and at 10% total harmonic distortion (THD) the audio output is given as 3.3 Watts. Single ended operation being the design purpose.

The latest test results. The base shell has the locating pip this is required together with the key on the spigot to ensure the correct orientation of the valve in the valve holder. The control grid supports are made of copper.

The wide glass tube envelope is 29 mm in diameter, and excluding the B8B base pins is 66 mm tall.
