The CV2015 is the CV173 (EF55) without the aluminium screening can and fitted with leads welded to the pins.
The original of this pentode (EF55) was a development of the EF50 with which it shares common base connections.
The CV2015 is a single ended RF pentode with very high mutual conductance and a sharp cut-off. It was designed for video frequency use, probably in RADAR service.
The Paxolin disc holding the tapes welded to the pins. The central hollow spigot also has a lead attached.
A true pentode with three wire grids. The control grid is wound on copper rods and is topped with heat radiating fins.
The wide glass tube envelope is 32 mm in diameter, and excluding the B9G base pins is 81 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet. Type CV2015 was first introduced in 1953. See also 1953 adverts.
