The VR17 was specified by the Air Ministry for the RAF. It is a directly heated battery triode and came in a Cossor box.The filament rating suggests a thoriated tungsten dull-emitter valve.The gettering completely covers the envelope, however, under strong light the shadow of the anode can be seen.
