The CV785 is the UK Government code for the commercial 1T4 and is a miniature screened pentode for dry battery operation. It was designed for radio reception and is a variable μ RF device and would be employed as an IF amplifier in most cases.
The reverse with other markings. The filament can be seen as a single vertical thread with a spring at the top.
The thin glass tube envelope is 17 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 47 mm tall.
