The CV1861 is a full wave rectifier identical to the 5Z3 and both markings appear on the envelope. The prototype was the 5Z3.

All of our 5Z3 rectifiers have filament tensioning springs whereas this valve does not.

The twin anodes and the 5Z3 identification. The octagonal line round the 5Z3 suggests an RCA made valve.

Each anode is folded from a single sheet and stitched together.

The oxide coated filament is looped over the top mica without tensioning springs.

The classic envelope is 51 mm in diameter and, excluding the UX4 base pins, is 116 mm tall.
