The 5Z3 is, in terms of general equipment, a high power rectifier capable of 100 Watts of output power. Such devices would provide the high tension (HT) rail for small radio transmitters, high power audio amplifiers, and modulators for amplitude modulation (AM) transmitters.The filaments are inverted 'v's of coated ribbon. The anode are 3 mm x 16 mm x 50 mm.The classic envelope is 48 mm in diameter and, excluding the UX4 base pins, is 119 mm tall.References: Data-sheet, 1040 & 1043.
