The CV1092 is a miniature signal diode. It was used in demodulation and other signal rectification duties for TV and Radar. The CV specification cites the EA50 and VR92 as prototypes.
Working at 45 MHz a physically small diode with minimal lead inductance was required.
Our exhibit D1 is physically identical, but has a 4.0 Volt heater.
The thin glass tube envelope is 11 mm in diameter and, including the B3G base pins, is 47 mm tall.
