NR85

The NR85 is an audio output valve. The prototypes were the KT63 and the 6F6G, on the glass to the left can be seen the RCA octagon with 6F6G within.
Before the UK CV register called this the CV1186 the service designations were the Army ARP17 and the Navy NR85 as seen here.
The coated envelope obscures most of the construction details.
The lower mica. the control grid copper supports can be seen as can the heater. The latter passing four times through the round cathode tube.
The classic envelope is 45 mm in diameter, and excluding the IO base pins is 98 mm tall.
