The 9D2 is a variable μ RF pentode. The 200 mA heater requirement indicates that this valve was designed for series heater chain use.

The outer screen is connected to the screening disc in the centre above the pinch.
A change of lighting reveals the cylindrical anode just inside of the screen and the wire grids at the centre.
The top of the valve has a second screen cap. The tops of the three grid supports can be seen. The suppressor grid is closer to the screen grid than the anode.
The classic envelope is 38 mm in diameter, and excluding the B7 base pins is 96 mm tall.
