The A2792 (CV6097) is a shunt voltage stabiliser triode. The anode would connect to the HT rail and the cathode to ground. A sense circuit would monitor the output voltage and control the conduction through the triode. In this way the HT rail would be maintained at a near constant level. For high current application a series pass stabiliser would be used.
The GEC paper label indication a valve for professional equipment.The thin glass tube envelope is 21 mm in diameter and, excluding the B9A base pins, is 52 mm tall. |
