The EBC41 is a medium impedance screened double diode triode. It would be used in signal and AGC detection in receivers. The triode would then act as the first audio amplifier stage. Mullard offer this as a high gain triode AF voltage amplifier.
This exhibit carries the pejorative Foreign Made whereas our other EBC41 is of British manufacture and has the usual perforated and expanded metal screen rather than the sheet screen seen here.
The other side carries the code P3 and 16. The locating pip for the B8A valve base is on the right.
Inside the screen the triode grid can be seen above a central mica support. Thus the diodes are near the base.
The thin glass tube envelope is 21 mm in diameter and, excluding the B8A base pins, is 53 mm tall.
