The Hampshire Collection
The 6CV7 is a medium impedance screened double diode triode. It would be used in signal and AGC detection in receivers. The triode would then act as the first audio amplifier stage. Tungsram valves were at the time this valve was made regarded as low cost imports. The feeling fostered by the BVA was that original UK makes offered superior quality and length of service. In some cases this may have been true but the Hungarian Tungsram company made fine valves.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter and, excluding the B8A base pins, is 53 mm tall.
