The Z22 is a directly heated battery pentode from 1938, designed for broadcast radio reception. The Z22 has a sharp cut-off characteristic and so not designed to be controlled by a negative AGC voltage.The Marconi brand printed on the zinc screening paint.The classic envelope is 42 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7 base pins, is 105 mm tall.Reference: 1043.
