The 1AB5 is a battery RF pentode with a higher μ than Type 1LN5. Use would be as RF amplifier or mixer.
The miniature electrode system lies horizontally across the base. The yellow lettering on the right is disintegrating but says Sylvania.
The electrode system in close-up. Note the single strand oxide coated filament passing through from left to right.
The dome carries the Type designation.
The wide glass tube envelope is 29 mm in diameter, and excluding the B8B base pins is 38 mm tall.
