The Curzon Collection
The 1LN5 is a dry battery screened pentode. It was used as an RF and IF amplifier in AM broadcast radio receivers. It is of the fixed μ type and so not ideal for use in superhet receivers.
The carton is marked for both US Army and US Navy and made by Sylvania for Galvin Manufacturing Corporation, as contractor. The date on the carton for acceptance is December 1943.
The wide glass tube envelope is 28 mm in diameter and, excluding the B8B base pins, is 55 mm tall.
