The S6F17 valve is a special quality version of the 6F17 miniature RF and pulse tetrode. The design is for pulse amplification. STC became ITT.
The anode is the outer grey metal shape and its connection is seen on the right. The beam plates can be seen as sheets curving in towards the grids on both sides. The screen grid wires pass flat across the flatened cathode. Thus the electron flow is confined to the centre of the anode.
The thin glass tube envelope is 17 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 45 mm tall.
Reference: Data-sheet. Type S6F17 was first introduced in 1961. See also 1961 adverts.
