The Hampshire Collection
The U19 high voltage half wave rectifier was designed to have an effective series resistance of 600 Ohms and to feed a reservoir capacitor of not more than 4 µF.
This exhibit is ruggedly constructed with ceramic supports and insulators. The anode is carbonised to aid in radiating away the heat generated in use by the intense electron bombardment.
The wide glass tube envelope is 48 mm in diameter and excluding the B4 base pins it is 157 mm tall.
