The 5Y3GT is a directly heated full wave rectifier, with inverted v's of coated tape as filaments.

The maximum reservoir capacitance is 32 µF and minimum series resistance is 100 Ohms.

The wide glass tube envelope has a diameter of 28 mm and excluding the IO base pins the overall height is 68 mm. Some 30 mm shorter than the original 'G' version.
