The U50 is a directly heated full wave rectifier, with inverted v's of coated tape as filaments.

The maximum reservoir capacitance is 32 µF and minimum series resistance is 100 Ohms.

The classic envelope has a maximum diameter of 42 mm and excluding the IO base pins the overall height is 98 mm.
