The 7233 is a miniature low-μ triode designed for use as a series regulator in regulated power supplies.
See also 6080 double triode series pass valve.
This valve has the Hewlett Packard name as well as the makers name.
Thanks to Charles Brown for sending the images and data-sheet.
The U shaped half anode is in the foreground with the gold plated grid on its Copper supports seen top and bottom.
The grid has cooling fins at the top and the U shaped anodes can be seen side on.
The identification of both Hewlett Packard and General Electric.
The thin glass tube envelope is 17 mm in diameter, and excluding the B9A base pins is 75 mm tall.
