The 6080 double triode features anodes split into two flat ended 'U' shaped channels either side of the flat cathode/grid assemblies. It is a purpose designed series pass valve for use in regulated power supplies and the triodes feature a very low ra to minimise voltage drop across the valve and consequently also minimise dissipation for a given current rating.
The independent triodes are held in position and held in the envelope by the mica supports.
One of the grids seen edge on. The two anode channels for this triode are top and bottom of the picture.
For full text See 6080.
The wide glass tube envelope is 39 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 88 mm tall.
