The 1LB4 is an audio output valve for use with dry cell equipment. Our exhibit is used in an American Zenith 8G005 battery/mains broadcast radio. Fed from a triode inverter (1LE3 a pair of these 1LB4s are used in the output stage.

The wide glass tube envelope is 28 mm in diameter and, excluding the B8B base pins, is 55 mm tall.
