The 1LE3 is an amplifier triode for dry cell radios. Our exhibit is employed as a phase inverter driving a push-pull audio output stage, using a pair of 1LB4s, in a 1947 Zenith 8G005Y battery/mains radio from America.
The wide glass tube envelope is 28 mm in diameter and, excluding the B8B base pins, is 55 mm tall.
