The John Lawrence Collection
The CV87 klystron, with its IO base, is clearly seen within its mounting shell. The reflector connects to the top cap of the glass envelope. The tuning screw is at the top of the housing furthest away from the IO base. It can be seen that as the cylindrical plate is moved by the action of the screw the linkages pass the movement into the centre resonator area.
The thin glass tube envelope is 33 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 200 mm tall.
