The SU2150A is equivalent to the SU2150A from Cossor. Several manufacturers made these EHT rectifiers to the same nominal specification but the Cossor design proved to be the best performing over time. This exhibit shows a more conventional construction with a vertical anode cylinder.
The maximum reservoir capacitor is 0.25 µF, and the minimum series resistance is 10 kOhms.
The anode connects to the top cap and is supported on glass pillars.
The indirectly heated oxide coated cathode. The large separation of anode and cathode is because of the EHT voltages used.
Thanks to Charlie Fraser for donating this exhibit and sending it from New Zealand.
The classic envelope is 49 mm in diameter at its widest and excluding the B4 base pins the valve is 108 mm high.
