The SC2/3000 is a corona discharge shunt voltage stabiliser for use at EHT voltages and very small currents. The above advert gives the operating details for the range.

Construction is of an outer cylinder with an inner central wire. The gas filling is hydrogen. This device operates at 3,000 Volts and a current of 1 mA nominal and 1.7 mA max.

The use for such shunt stabilisers is for EHT supplies for devices such as CRT's, Geiger-Muller tubes and photomultipliers.

The GEC logo the brand used for professional devices made by the M-OV company.

The thin glass tube envelope is 21 mm in diameter, and excluding the B9A base pins is 70 mm tall.
