The 6AS5 was designed for the audio output stage of car radios when the HT supply was still provided by either a vibrator or rotary transformer.
In performance terms it would generate up to 2.2 Watts in a single ended class A design.
The anode end on. The anode shape is a rectangle.
The base showing that the heater passes through the cathode tube four times and that the screen grid is supported on stout Copper rods for good heat conduction to the radiator fins at the top.
The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm in diameter, and excluding the base pins is 60 mm tall.
