The M8082 is a special quality audio output valve based on the EL91 design. For the 1962 special quality version the design has been optimised for resistance to vibration and to give definable performance under rugged conditions.
For self bias the cathode resistor should be 740 Ohms. The anode load is 16,000 Ohms. An output of 1.4 Watts is possible in a single ended configuration. Distortion figures are 10%. The performance is equal to the commercial EL91.
The M8082/CV4063 is also specified as an HF pentode with useful gain into the low VHF range.
See also CV136 the original CV badged EL91 and M8082 with the new logo.
The reverse of the envelope carries the CV designation.
The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 45 mm tall.
