The DAF96 is a miniature dry battery valve. By the 1950s Every Ready did not make valves but were a major supplier of the dry batteries that portable radio receivers required. The DAF96 was designed for detector and first audio stage use.
The single strand filament passes through the diode anode at the top and then through the pentode.
The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 48 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet, 3002 & 1040. Type DAF96 was first introduced in 1953. See also 1953 adverts.
