The ZD25(DAF96) is a miniature dry battery valve designed for detector and first audio stage use in the last generation of valve portable sets. As a professional brand the GEC valves may have been used in professional and/or military sets.
The single strand oxide coated filament passes vertically through the valve. At the top is the diode anode curling round the filament.The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 47 mm tall.References: Data-sheet, 3002 & 1040.
