This 6X5G full wave rectifier uses a common cathode with anodes mounted vertically over the indirectly heated cathode tube. The valve is rated for pulse operation as well with the maximum peak inverse voltage rating being 22 kV.
In normal use the maximum reservoir capacitor is limited to 4 µF and the minimum series resistance has to be 150 Ohms.
The tube formed by the anode plates has a small diameter and this gives rise to a flat rectangular anode format. The secondary support rods pass through cylindrical holes in the opposite anode in the same way as the cathode passes through without touching. In this way the structure is kept compact.
The classic envelope is 36 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 88 mm tall.
