The EM71 Magic Eye from Mullard has a pressed glass foot construction. The grid voltage change to control the display is 20 Volts.
Unlike most tuning indicators, such as the EM34, the EM71 has the display offset in the envelope to give a fan display.
Another interesting feature is the complete offsetting of the electrode assembly. To balance up the mica supports the getter is mounted on a V shaped bracket on the other side of the envelope.
The wide glass tube envelope is 28 mm in diameter and, excluding the B8B base pins, is 54 mm tall.
