CV1835 is a half wave Xenon filled rectifier. The maximum Peak Inverse Voltage is rated at 5,000 Volts. Although the average rectified current is 500 mA the peak value can be as high as 2 Amps.
The envelope is marked with CV1835, GXU1 and 3B28 and this valve can be used when any of the others have been specified but it is possible that the reverse is not true.
The picture above shows the assembly of the valve at the anode end. Note the retaining collar with its nut and bolt. Clearly a hand built product and probably not a high volume device. The shielding is comprehensive at both ends of the anode cavity.
The wide glass tube envelope is 48 mm in diameter and, excluding the UX4 base pins, is 137 mm tall.
