The RR3-250 is a power rectifier. The anode is caged to reduce the emission of x-rays from the envelope. Such a rectifier would have been used in transmitting or radar equipment
The classic envelope is 48 mm in diameter and, excluding the B4D base pins, is 133 mm tall.
