The MVSPenB was introduced in 1937. It has the standard mains heater of the day, 4.0 V at 1.0 A. This variable μ pentode was designed for RF and IF amplifier service in superhet radio receivers.
The diamond label echo's the 'New Process' design of the early 1930s. Our other MVSPenB has the branding printed on the zinc metalising paint and is typical of late 1930s Cossor Valves.
The classic envelope is 43 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7 base pins, is 104 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet, 1043 & 1040. Type MVSPenB was first introduced in 1937. See also 1937 adverts.
