The CV518 is a screened pentode for at RF and IF in radio reception, and equally suited to the early stages of a transmitter.

The valve has external metalisation brought out to pin four on the base, and the commercial version is the AC/VP1.

The classic envelope is 38 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7 base pins, is 115 mm tall.
