Terry's Radio van and children in about 1936 or 7.
Thomas's father worked for Terry's Radio in East London. The firm is believed to have been a subsidiary of Marconi's.
Thomas joined the building industry at 14, he tried brick laying and settled on plastering. However, his skills developed to embrace the wider building industry and he became a master builder.
After the war, the memory of radio advertising cards and charging of two Volt accumulators awoke an interest in radio and television. Among many interests outside work, radio and television had a large place and many items came his way to repair and restore.
The valves in his collection cover radio, television and audio. Only Types new to the museum or those with unusual characteristics or markings have been added to the museum. Others will feed into the BVWS to help the wider community keep vintage equipment working.
