DC96

The DC96 is a battery triode with a 25 mA 1.4 V filament - the last type of battery valve filament design. The filament is a single strand as can be seen from the image above.
The anode plates have been stitched together and the grid can be seen through the slot in the anode wall.
Side view of the anode.
A better view of the grid. The use of two pins for anode and two pins for the control grid suggest a frequency use above the broadcast radio bands but no firm evidence of the design application has yet been located.
The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 47 mm tall.
Reference: 3002. Type DC96 was first introduced in 1955. See also 1955 adverts.
