CV77Sensibly equivalent¶ to:K Tube

The CV77 is known as a Ktube and is a cold cathode thyratron. The voltage drop across the unit is 70 Volts.The body is a metal cylinder with glass at the top. The lower connection is to the fixing screw.
The top electrode is a flat based cylinder and the trigger electrode below is a ring. As a thyratron it will have a low pressure gas filling to facilitate the avalanche breakdown once triggered.Thanks to Mark Mallison for sending the images.The thin metal tube envelope is 16 mm in diameter and, excluding the base wires, is 50 mm tall.Reference: Jeremy Harmer. |
