The CV77 is known as a Ktube and is a cold cathode thyratron. The voltage drop across the unit is 70 Volts.

The body is a metal cylinder with glass at the top. The lower connection is to the fixing screw.

The top electrode is a flat based cylinder and the trigger electrode below is a ring. As a thyratron it will have a low pressure gas filling to facilitate the avalanche breakdown once triggered.

The thin metal tube envelope is 16 mm in diameter and, excluding the base wires, is 50 mm tall.
