The Radio Record AC/VS is an indirectly heated vari-μ screen grid valve or tetrode designed for RF or IF amplification in receivers with AVC or manual grid bias adjustment. It probably dates to the early 1930s before the Vari-μ pentode took over. The screw top cap also suggests early 1930s.The basic operating details are present printed onto the zinc screening paint. The two part split base pins. Thanks to Mark Mallison for sending the images. The classic envelope is mm in diameter, and excluding the B5 base pins is mm tall. |
