The 1B4E is electrically a Type 32 in a smaller envelope. It was designed as an RF amplifier in battery operated receivers.

The screening hides the inner structure.

The UX4 base pins.

With much enhancement the Type designation can now be read.

The box clearly places the 1B4 as equivalent to the Type 32.

The classic envelope is  mm in diameter and, excluding the UX4 base pins, is  mm tall.
