The CV1926 (commercially the 6G6G) is an audio output pentode was designed for radio receiver use.
The essence of the type 6G6 design is economy of heater and HT consumption. Ideal where only a modest audio output is required. As such, it was a good choice for driving the internal speakers of communications receivers, including types used by the military.
The 6G6 within an octagonal border suggests the valve is of American manufacture, especially as Haltron were resellers.
The top mica reveals that this is a true pentode with three wire grids.
Here all three grids can be seen with their relative pitches. The oxide coated cathode is round. The anode is blackened to make it a more efficient radiator.
The classic envelope is 38 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins the valve is 88 mm tall.
